Operation demolish all illegal structures! Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu has taken the Urban Renewal programme in Aba, the state's commercial center, to his maternal home in Umuafo area.

The gate and some stores to the entrance of his uncle Chief Godwin Alozie's house along Ururuka Road have been demolished.

To prove his seriousness, the fence of Chief Fred Chigbu, younger brother of Madam Betty Ikpeazu, who is governor Ikpeazu's mother, has also been marked for demolition. See more photos:

There are indication that stores, houses and fence built without government approval will be demolished. In the same vain, member representing Ohafia North Constituency in Abia State House Of Assemble Hon Madela Obasi did not wait for government to pull down the fence of his hotel - Evergreen Hotel - located on Umuola Road, Ogborhill, Aba, as he pulled the fence down by himself.

If he can continue in this spirit, Aba could just be wearing a new look soon.
